Manly Beach Running Club is a completely unique running club. Our club is full of awesome athletes, super positive runners and expert Coaches. We are community focussed not strava obsessed! We are the sunrise chasers but we are not counting the minutes till the end of the run! 

You WILL have fun, you WILL work hard but you WILL also see yourself achieving Personal Bests you never thought were possible! 

Goals you thought were completely out of reach will be SMASHED! 

Dreams you thought were ridiculously unrealistic, will be ACHIEVED!

Whatever you dream of achieving, whether you’re training for your first 5km parkrun, first trail race, first 10km, half marathon, marathon, Six Foot Track, UTA50, UTA100 or your next 100 miler or 200 miler, we will transform you into the running superhero you were born to be! 

We love to run and we run every day, 365 days per year! Christmas, New Year, Australia Day, birthdays etc  WE RUN!!

Our members have a range of fitness levels and are a chatty bunch. It’s not about split times and what trainers you’re wearing – it’s about getting fit and reaching running goals.

Custom Programs

We help develop training programs for running 10km, half marathon, marathon and ultra marathon to help get you up and running and ready for your next race.

Trail Running

Swimming Club

Meet Joe

Head Coach Joe Ward is a Champion Ultra Runner with 100s of races under his belt. He is obsessed with everything running related from trail to road and track. Indeed it’s accurate to say running is his whole life. He ran his first marathon in 2006 and has a marathon PB of 2:58 (Melbourne 2011).

2006 to 2008 – 3 x East Kent Coastal Marathon finisher

2007 to 2008 – 2 x London Marathon finisher

2009 – Macleay River Marathon – 1st Place Winner (20-29 age group)

2010 – Port Macquarie IronMan

2011 – Melbourne Marathon – 2:58

2013, 2014, 2015 and 2021- 4 Time Coast to Kosci 240km finisher

2014 – Sydney to Newcastle GNW250 – 57 hours 15 mins

3 time GNW250 finisher – 2013, 2014, 2015

2016 – Brisbane to Sydney 1000 kms FKT holder – 11 days 7 hours

2018 – GNW 100 miles – 1st place – 23:06 

2020 – Aussie 24 Hour Invitational – 1st place – 239.5kms

2021 – Sri Chimnoy 12 hour – 1st place – 125.7kms

2021 – Southern Sydney Ultra 24 hour – 1st place – 242.6kms

2021 – C2K – 1st place – 25:14 (new incl weather CR)

2022 – Sri Chinmoy 12 hour – 1st place – 126.6kms

2022 – IAU Asia and Oceania 24HR Champs – India – 5th place and SILVER mens team for Aussie Emus

2022 – Melbourne Marathon – 2:54 (marathon PB)
