President, Direct-to-Consumer
Earley is probably working a lot of late nights these days. While spearheading efforts to steer Disney+ to profitability, the former Fox executive helped drive the acquisition of Comcast’s one-third share of Hulu, which became official in November when the companies finally came to terms on the streamer’s actual value: $8.6 billion for that stake, about on par with its old value of $27.5 billion. Those on the Comcast side believed Hulu to be worth far more, though they had tens of billions of reasons to inform that opinion. Direct-to-consumer is the stated future of Disney, and Earley is in position to directly shape it all. He took over at Disney Entertainment Streaming in April with the exit of Michael Paull and now reports to Dana Walden and Alan Bergman.
