OBITUARY.
Roger J. Roodvoets, 46, of 2105 52nd St. SE, a partner in Kamminga & Roodvoets, excavators, and a leader in church work, died Saturday in Butterworth Hospital after a heart attack.
Mr. Roodvoets also was president of Laser Alignment, Inc., an alignment service for pipe installations.
He was a life resident of Grand Rapids and worked for his father in landscaping before entering the excavating business in 1950.
He was both a deacon and elder in the Millbrook Christian Reformed Church and was chairman of the Evangelism Committee of the church. He was an active board member of many religious organizations.
Surviving are his wife, Alyce; four daughters, Mrs. Roger (Sally) VanValkenburg of Grand Rapids, and Karen, Jane and Mary at home; two sons, Mark and Bryan at home; one grandchild; his mother, Mrs. John Roodvoets of Kentwood; two brothers, William of
Grand Rapids and David of Midland; two sisters, Mrs. Kenneth (Ruth) Stewart and Mrs. Kenneth (Sarah) Meyer of Grand Rapids.

Alyce Mae Roodvoets, age 81, of Kentwood, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, June 4, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger and daughter, Cynthia.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Sally and Roger Van Valkenburg, Mark and Karen Roodvoets, Karen and Brian Baars, Bryan and Cindy Roodvoets, Jane Beckon, Mary and Breck Fabish;

Members of the family will receive relatives and friends at the Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Chapel (Kentwood), 4646 Kalamazoo SE on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m..
