Anthony Santander went 1-for-3 with a two-run homer and a walk to put the Orioles ahead in Saturday’s 5-3 win over the White Sox.

After drawing a walk to lead off the seventh inning, Santander took Michael Kopech deep for a two-run blast in the eighth to give the Orioles a one-run lead. It was his second homer in three games. Though, he’s collected only three hits in his last seven. The 29-year-old slugger is hitting .205/.284/.432 with nine homers and 29 RBI across 197 plate appearances.
Alex Kirilloff

MIN Right Fielder #19

Alex Kirilloff went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored, and three RBI to lead the Twins to a 5-3 win over the Rangers.

Kirilloff knocked a base hit to lead off the seventh inning and scored on a sacrifice fly by Carlos Correa. Trailing by one run with two runners on base in the eighth, he took David Robertson deep for a three-run homer to give the Twins the lead. The 26-year-old has gone yard in back-to-back games for his fifth of the season while hitting .215/.278/.423 with 19 runs scored and 16 RBI across 144 plate appearances.

Jordan Hicks allowed one run with eight strikeouts over five innings in a no-decision against the Mets on Saturday.

Hicks allowed just two hits and two walks over five frames on Saturday against the Mets. One of those hits left the yard as Starling Marte took him deep for a solo shot in the second inning. Hicks was otherwise excellent, striking out eight batters on 19 whiffs. His velocity was back up to 95 mph after sitting below 92 mph his last time out. The 27-year-old right-hander has broken out as a starter in San Francisco, posting a 2.33 ERA, 1.09 WHIP, and a 48/19 K/BB ratio across 58 innings. He lines up for a home matchup against the Yankees on Friday.
Reese Olson

DET Starting Pitcher #45

Reese Olson allowed one run -- zero earned -- with four strikeouts over 6 1/3 innings in a win over the Blue Jays on Saturday.

Olson looked outstanding after leaving his previous start early after taking a comebacker to the hip. He worked around a bases-loaded jam in the fifth to keep the Blue Jays scoreless. A walk and an error put two runners on with one out in the seventh before Olson was relieved by Alex Faedo, who allowed one inherited runner to score. The Tigers would hold on to the lead to give Olson his first win of the season despite an excellent 1.92 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, and a 47/19 K/BB ratio across 56 1/3 innings. He’s in line for a start against the Red Sox in Boston on Friday.
Triston Casas

BOS First Baseman #36

Triston Casas (rib) told reporters Saturday that he’s on track to resume swinging a bat next week.

Casas has been on the shelf, and unable to resume hitting at all, since suffering torn cartilage in his left rib cage back in mid-April. The 24-year-old slugger doesn’t have a firm return timetable yet, but the fact that he’ll resume swinging soon provides some optimism that he’ll be ready to return when first eligible on June 21.
Garrett Whitlock

BOS Relief Pitcher #22

Garrett Whitlock said Saturday the he expects to undergo a season-ending internal brace procedure on his right elbow.

Whitlock has ligament damage in his right elbow and is headed for surgery next week with Dr. Jeff Dugas in Alabama. The expectation, according to the 27-year-old righty, is that he’ll undergo an internal brace procedure that carries a shorter return timeline than Tommy John surgery. The hope is that he’ll be ready for the early stages of the 2025 campaign.
Austin Riley

ATL Third Baseman #27

Austin Riley (side) remains out of the lineup for Saturday’s showdown against the Pirates.

Yikes. Riley has progressed to taking batting practice without any issues, but it appears the Braves don’t want to take any chances here. Atlanta manager Brian Snitker told reports Friday that he doesn’t expect Riley back until Monday’s series opener against the Nationals. The 27-year-old fantasy star hasn’t played since May 12 and will miss his 12th consecutive contest on Saturday afternoon at PNC Park. It’ll be Zack Short drawing another start at the hot corner in his absence.
Josh Lowe

TB Right Fielder #15

Rays placed OF Josh Lowe on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to May 23, with a right oblique strain.

Ugh. There was some optimism that Lowe wouldn’t be facing a lengthy absence after he wasn’t put on the injured list ahead of Friday’s series opener. The 26-year-old fantasy stalwart told reporters Saturday that he hopes to only have a minimum stay on the injured list, which is extremely encouraging. He’s been limited to just 14 games this season due to persistent injuries. It sounds like there’s a strong possibility he’ll return in early June.
Edwin Diaz

NYM Relief Pitcher #39

Mets manager Carlos Mendoza told reporters Saturday that Edwin Díaz is “one of the options” (to close) moving forward.

He’s our closer,” Mendoza added. “Even if he’s going through it right now.” He also elaborated that they’ll “piece it together” moving forward in the ninth inning. It’s a bit of a confusing message and isn’t exactly the vote of confidence fantasy managers are hoping to hear. It certainly sounds like Díaz will get some save opportunities in the near future, but Reed Garrett, Adam Ottavino and Jorge López might also still be in the mix. What a mess.
Bryan Ramos

CWS Third Baseman #44

White Sox activated INF Bryan Ramos from the 10-day injured list.

Ramos is back in Chicago’s lineup at third base following a minumum stay on the shelf recovering from a mild quad strain. The 22-year-old rookie has gotten off to a nice start, batting .281 (9-for-32) with a pair of RBI in 34 plate appearances over 10 contests.
