Came here on a Saturday early evening, was fairly empty - the place starts getting busy around 5/6 onwards.
Had the spicy seafood pot ($59.99)! It didn't have the lobster or live octopus like the other more popular options - but was definitely a filling and satisfactory meal for 2! For 4 people this may not be enough unless you order addition side dishes and such.
Would definitely recommend trying the more expensive options - I'll be back!

This is not your "typical" Korean BBQ restaurant where you get a steamed egg and unlimited sides.
When you order BBQ, you start off with a small plate of spicy rice cakes and an egg fried at your table. The combination meat platters come in two sizes (medium or large). We ordered the medium, it was an average of 8 bite size pieces of each meat.
We also ordered the Spicy Seafood pot hot. It was topped with clams, squid, shrimp, watercress, mushroom, udon, and rice cake. The medium spicy was very light on the spice and the broth was only half-way full so we had to request for additional broth.
While the Korean BBQ was not as spectacular, the hot pot was really good and was perfect to the cold NY weather.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 226176476Feb 6, 2018
Instagram worthy but food isn't worth the money.
I care here pretty late in the night with the bf and the restaurant was pretty empty; maybe 2 or 3 other parties? The restaurant is really nice and cute, it looks warm bc the tables and seats are wooden and is a great place for groups to hang out and celebrate. ALSO the bathroom isn't a single. I thought it was for some reason so I stood outside of it until a girl walked in and looked at me like I was crazy. Anyway as much as I liked the mood, the food wasn't that great.
Seafood hotpot: that was good for 2-3 people. It LOOKED amazing. Took some good pics. There was so much seafood, clams, mussels, crab, octopus, squid, shrimp and a good amount of veggies too. The taste was fine during the meal, but after, thinking back, it wasn't that great. Quite seafoody, maybe because we had to eat so much of it.
Overall I'd actually give it 3.5 stars if I could because It wasn't horrible and I'd go back. It was not worth 60$ though. The bbq options looked good, but it also seemed expensive. And actually, we started feeling sick almost immediately after so...Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Jan 20, 2018
Came here last night with a group of friends. The place is relatively dark, and is definitely set up and has vibes as if you were grabbing dinner in Korea (tables even have the call buttons).
We ordered their spicy marinated pork, a kimchi fried rice (they messed up and gave us veggie fried rice), seafood pancake, a couple of ramen budae jjigae, and a steamed egg. While pricey, the food here is delicious and has great presentation.
Note: They require you to tip at least 25% if your party is greater than 6 people.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 22, 2017
This place is not AMAZING but just decent.
My friends and I were craving a spicy seafood casserole so we decided to come here. Firstly I was so not impressed by the side dishes they give you here. Korean restaurants are known for their side dishes and here they gave you a dish of kimchi, a dish of the thinnest sliced cucumber and carrots to dip in the soybean sauce, and they fried 3 eggs that was way over salted for 5 people to share.
Anyway, ordered the ddukbokki, seafood scallion pancake, and the spicy seafood casserole. I liked the ddukbokki because the rice cakes were huge and chewy and the sauce was spicy and sweet, just the way I like it. Next the seafood pancake was huge and crispy. The insides were stuffed with seafood and it tasted great dipping it in the ddukbokki sauce.
Finally, for the main entree, the spicy seafood casserole. It comes with half a lobster, crab, squid, octopus, clams, and mussels that are all quite large! However, the broth was a bit underwhelming. Didn't have as much flavor or depth as I imagined.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Nov 26, 2017
I discovered Sik Gaek through one of my many YouTube Food Video rabbit holes and am so glad to have done so. Sik Gaek is not your typical Korean Hot Pot spot, offering a unique Seafood Hot Pot wherein a large heaping of seafood is steamed and then presented to you. The waiters then help you dismantle all the delicious critters so you have easy access to all the meat. As the broth boils down, you are left with a rich, flavorful broth which upon request can be mixed with rice and stir fried.
The seafood itself was amazingly fresh, the pot contained lobster, snow crab, shrimp, calamari, abalone and much much more. Sik Gaek also provided a large assortment of banchan (as expected), a welcome pairing with the seafood. For only 20 dollars extra, you can add a dish of live octopus (which I highly recommend). Delivered to your table still squirming and paired with a light garlic sauce, these are definitely a must try! Just make sure you chew thoroughly!
The set price for the seafood hotpot is $80 which seems daunting at first, but it can easily feed 5 or more. Service is also exceptional, they were quite busy but quickly refilled our requested banchan and replenished our soju supply with joy. If you are in the Flushing area, make sure to stop by!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 3282973294May 3, 2017
Awesome place to hang out with friends. The vibe you get inside sik gaek is like no other. You enter into a place of unexpected wild happiness. The staff greets the customers when they enter. They actually make the effort to stop what they are doing to welcome you. thats awesome. its like entering a friends kitchen of some sort. Entire staff is friendly and more importantly food is really good. Their known for their seafood hotpots, filled with clams, muscles, shrimp, snails, crab, abalone and even lobster.
The best part of the meal though, is the fried rice that they cook with the left over broth. They cook it in that giant pot and its fabulous. I always anticipate for that part.
They also have a noodle version but i think it comes with the clam hotpot since the broth is a little more clearer. As for the seafood hotpot, the broth is spicy and thick so to me, I dont really see it as drinkable, but thats me.
If you are daring though, they have this live octopus dish, not always available and it typically sells out, but ask for it anyway. Its pretty cool, the tenticles stick to your tongue and the sides of your mouth, its a weird feeling but i can stay i have tried it.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Brenda J.Long Island, NY15372391Nov 1, 2017
Such a chill and nice atmosphere! You're greeted by friendly and very attentive workers the minute you walk through the doors. The decorations are overwhelming and confusing if you've never been there but it's amazing what you notice when you go there a few times.
They have large pots of seafood and grills for the meat if you decide to order either. I personally think it's not worth it for the price (about $60) for a small plate of meat when you can get unlimited bbq elsewhere. The pot of seafood (a small was $60) was okay. It was a few pieces of mussels, shrimp and crabs and way too many veggies for my liking. I've tried their fried rice ($15), grilled clams ($20), and the marinated beef short rib ($30). Overall, it's mediocre food for people who like to drink pitchers of flavored soju and beer!
The workers were all very nice and the ambience of this place is incredible (only when they're packed). I will continue to come back for my nightly adventures!Helpful 12Thanks 0Love this 10Oh no 0 - 3463103915Jun 20, 2016

Solid place to hang out with friends if you're looking for a grungy vibe. From the outside it looks quiet and unassuming but once you step inside you enter a different world.
Channeling the street bars of Seoul, this a great place to eat some late night grub and grab a drink..or two..or five, lol.
Since I have horrible tolerance for alcohol I came here primarily for the food. My friends and I ordered the spare ribs and the kimchi fried rice. I think the spare ribs were too sweet for my taste but I loved the kimchi fried rice. Overall it's a good place to hang if you don't mind rowdy drunk customers. The service is good though.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
